Age of the Comet

The year is 1935. But this 1935 is not our own...

In 1908, the Tunguska Event ripped through the Siberian tundra. At the time, it was seen to be just a comet - but by 1909, it became clear what had happened. Something inhuman had come to pay us a visit, and by the greeting they gave at Boykit, they weren't friendly. Come 1912, it all seemed under control - the first armored divisions were pushing toward the comet's landing spot, artillery tearing through the beasts, when the comets began to fall in earnest. 

By 1920, the former "great powers" of the world had been ripped apart by the comet-beasts, and various parties, conspiracies, corporate entities, cooperatives, military units, syndicates, and organizations of every type hunkered down and hoped for survival.

Now it is 1935. Petty states war with those who would prefer to keep their freedom, as those with control over weapons, food, water, or fuel exploit their advantage in order to secure their positions. Conflicts of various intensities, waged to the greatly-reduced abilities of the martial organizations of the new world, burn across the regions plagued by little kings. The rulers of the so-called "great powers" eye hungrily the areas that, only thirty short years ago, were theirs alone. It is a year of turmoil and blood.
